PurrWell uses an Advanced Multi-Stage Water Purification System, not just a basic carbon disc like most cheap fountains.
Each filter contains 5 layers working together:
-Fine Mesh Filter Layer
The first line of defense. Catches loose fur, hair and debris before
it ever reaches the water.
-Mineral Enrichment Beads
Remove food residue and impurities that make water taste stale and
discourage cats from drinking.
-Activated Carbon Core
Absorbs odours and neutralises contaminants keeping every sip
tasting clean and fresh.
-Natural Mineral Stones
Filter out unwanted particles that pass through the earlier layers,
adding an extra level of purity.
- Coconut Carbon Sponge
The final stage. Supports clean water flow and removes any remaining
trace impurities before the water reaches your cat.

The filters job is to catch debris, hair and impurities, the steel base of the fountain already keeps the water clean. Staying consistent with filter changes keeps your cat drinking regularly and the fountain running at full performance.

How often do I really need to change the filter?
We recommend changing it every 2 weeks for the cleanest, best-tasting water, which is what most cats respond to best. Change it when you refill the reservoir and you never have to think about the schedule.
How is this different from generic carbon filters I can buy elsewhere?
PurrWell filters run water through five purification stages: fine mesh, mineral enrichment beads, activated carbon, natural mineral stones, and a coconut carbon sponge. Most cheap replacement filters are a single carbon disc, which catches large debris and not much else. The five stages are why the water still tastes clean a week in instead of going stale by day three. They're also shaped specifically to seat correctly inside the PurrWell fountain, which generic filters do not.
How does the subscription work?
The subscription is completely optional. You can buy any pack whenever you need them.
If you do want it on autopilot, we send a fresh pack every 60-120 days automatically. There is no contract, no minimum number of shipments, and no hidden renewal fees. Cancel in one click whenever you want. The first pack ships within 1-2 business days like any other order, and every pack after that ships 30 days later.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, cancel anytime, no minimum and no questions asked. You can cancel from your account dashboard in a couple of clicks. If you would rather we just handle it for you, email support@trypurrwell.com and we'll take care of it the same day.
When will my next shipment arrive?
Your first order ships within 1-2 business days, with delivery typically 2-7 business days after that. After your first pack, the next one ships automatically (every 30 days). You'll get an email with tracking the moment each shipment goes out, so there are no surprise charges and no guessing.
What if I just want to buy a one-time pack?
Totally fine. The one-time option is right at the top of the page and there's no obligation, no follow-up subscription, no funny business. A lot of cat moms start with one pack to see how long it lasts in their household before deciding whether the subscription makes sense for them. You can always switch to the subscription later if you decide it's easier.
